A for Analogue

In March I was invited to exhibit work at Frankenstein Press in Bristol in A for Analogue, an exhibition of analogue printmaking. As well as myself, the other exhibiting artists were Ben Goodman, Theo Miller, Matthew Lintott, David Sully and Anna Ruiz.

A for Analogue

The primary focus of our Spring 2024 Exhibition is analogue printmaking, utilising fundamental tools and printmaking techniques to express and visualise nature, embodying the essence of Spring: new beginnings and resurfacing.

The selected techniques emphasise mark making and carving, symbolising the journey from a vegetative state to a final artwork. Local artists employing linocut, drypoint, wood engraving and woodcut techniques will be showcased.

Each technique carries a unique history, and we aim to explore their convergence.

We aim to spotlight texture, subtleties, and the suggestive power of iconography and individuality. Join us in celebrating the timeless artistry of analogue printing and the rich narratives embedded in these traditional techniques.

Curated Exhibitions by Frankenstein Press

We are excited to announce a series of four curated exhibitions per year, aligned with the equinoxes and solstices.

In an ear where our connection with nature and its cycles has waned, our mission is to actively promote creativity, emphasising the value of craftsmanship, artistry, and the profound human connection fostered through the printed word.

We extend an invitiation to join us on a journey that celebrates the beauty of the analogue, upholds the preservation of tradition, and embraces the enduring power of human creativity in a world moving at lightning speed.

The exhibition ran from 22nd to 27th March 2024.
