Workshop: Introduction to Letterpress

About Fiona

Fiona Hamilton is a Bristol-based artist-printmaker whose work explores our relationship with the natural world through drawing, etching, lithography and chine collé. Inspired by ecological research and careful observation, she creates finely detailed prints that encourage viewers to slow down and look more closely at the landscapes and habitats around us. Her work often focuses on the hidden connections within woodland ecosystems, drawing attention to the beauty, resilience and fragility of nature.

Fiona has over 20 years' professional experience, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Printmaking) in 2002 before completing an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking at UWE Bristol in 2023. She teaches printmaking at Spike Print Studio and Bristol School of Art, writes for publications including Impact Journal, and regularly exhibits her work across the UK, including at the Royal Society of Printmakers International Original Print Exhibition, the New English Art Club Annual Exhibition, Wells Art Contemporary and Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.
